Ripped Paper Projects
What you need:
Construction Paper
Printed Shape Outline (Linked below)
Elmer's Glue
Glitter (Optional)
Print out a Christmas Tree, Dreidel, or Ornament from below. Cardstock will hold up better but regular paper will work as well.
Take a piece of construction paper and rip it up into small pieces. Depending on the age of your child, they might like to help with this part!
Spread glue on the inside of the shape.
Show your child how to put the paper on and encourage them to fill the whole shape.
Once they are done, cut out the outline.
Option to add some glitter decorations like garland on the tree or a hebrew letter on the side of the dreidel.
Candy Cane Tape Painting
What you need:
Red Paint
Paint Brush
Tape
Printed Candy Cane Outline (Linked below)
Glitter (Optional)
Print the candy cane outline on cardstock. You could also draw one on cardboard if you don't have cardstock.
Tape stripes using painter's tape or masking tape. (Make sure stripes are diagonal - we had to redo ours because I made the stripes horizontal - oops!)
Have your child paint with red paint, trying to fill in all the spaces.
Once dried, peel the tape and cut out the outline.
Add glitter (optional) but I think glitter makes everything better and it helps if there was a little paint that bled through.
Negative Painting
What you need:
White Paper
Paint
Paintbrushes
Cardstock or thin cardboard
Tape
Glitter (optional)
1. Cut out whatever shape you want. You can use the shapes from the projects above.
2. Tape it onto the white paper by rolling the tape and sticking it to the back. Make sure to tape close to the edges and push down hard.
3. Have your little one paint all over (making sure to help them get near the edges of the shape).
4. Once they're done, You can peel off the shape in the middle.
5. Outline your shape in glitter to help hide any paint that might have bled through.
