Kids love Halloween and no matter what you choose to do with your little ones this year, it probably won't look quite like it ever has before. Here are some fun ideas you can do if you are not bringing your little ones to trick-or-treat this year (or even if you are)!
Candy (or treat) Hunt at home
Lets be honest, Halloween is really about the treats! If you have a young toddler, you can put treats around you back yard or house and treat it like an Easter egg hunt. They can get dressed up and have their trick or treat basket and go around "finding" their treats. If you want to make it a little more fun you could even wrap some in tissue paper! Hunter has never had candy (that I know of - who knows what Aunt Stephanie and Grandma give him when I am not around). I will probably do a little bit of candy but then maybe some little toys and bags of cheddar bunnies and things he will like.
Flashlight Candy Search If your kid is a little older, I read that someone hid the candy at night and gave their child a flashlight to find it in the dark. I thought that was such a fun idea!
Candy Scavenger Hunt
Also for older kids, you could give clues to little candy stashes. Things like "Find the spot where you lay down to sleep. You just might find a surprise that you can keep!" and have some candy on their bed.
If anyone has any other Halloween ideas during this pandemic, let me know. I would love to share them!
