This was so much fun and really quick to set up! You can make these dinosaur eggs and when vinegar is added, they will fizz up and the dinosaur will hatch! All you need is a few small dinosaur figurines, baking soda, vinegar, water and some kind of dropper/syringe. Here is how you do it!
Take out a small bowl and shake baking soda in. Sprinkle in a little bit of water, just enough to make it crumbly and packable. It should not be wet. Pack the baking soda around the dinosaurs to form an egg shape. Freeze for 3 hours. That's the whole prep!!
I definitely do some activities that require a lot of prep but this one was little prep and still a really exciting activity!
I laid the eggs out in a cake pan since the sides are high and I was trying to contain the mess. It worked great. I used a tylenol syringe but any type of dropper would work or even a spoon. I gave him a small cup of white vinegar. He needed help filling the syringe but he can push the liquid out himself.
Once you pour the vinegar on the eggs, they start to fizz up which is really fun! It took quite a few squirts for the dinosaurs to start popping out which made this activity last longer which is always good for mama. I read that if you keep it in the freezer for a shorter time, they will "hatch" quicker.
It was really fun to watch him as he tried to figure out what was inside. This activity really kept his attention because he liked creating the fizz effect! After all of our dinosaurs were hatched, we had a little dinosaur bath to clean off our newborn babies.
Hope you enjoy this fun activity!
