Healthier Snack Bars for Toddlers

As the new year rolls around, many of us think about getting healthier but what about our toddlers? Lets face it, toddler life is chaotic and we don't always have time or energy to be making homemade snacks. I often need a grab-and-go snack or snacks I can keep in the diaper bag. However, I do want Hunter to be getting nutritious food. Hunter and I did a lot of taste testing to find the healthiest and yummiest store-bought bars!

Here are our top 5 bars: I found these to be the most nutritious bars with the least amount of ingredients, minimal or no added sugar and of course Hunter approved!

RX Kids Bars

RX Bars are known for putting their ingredients right on the front of the package which I have always liked. Recently I saw a kids version of the bars and decided to give it a try. Hunter absolutely loves them! I have to hide them because he would eat them all day. We buy the variety pack of strawberry, chocolate chip and double chocolate but Strawberry is his favorite.

Ingredients: (Strawberry) Dates Oats Egg Whites Coconut Oil Strawberries Natural Flavors

Larabar Mini

Larabars have been a staple in my house for many years. My husband and I love them! As soon as Hunter could walk, he liked to rummage through my cabinets and take out foods to eat and of course he always wanted to try what we were eating. He would always take out the larabars (peanut butter chocolate chip is our go-to flavor) but he would never finish them. Luckily they make minis! They are the perfect size for toddlers and the same delicious taste!

Ingredients: (Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip): Dates Peanuts Semisweet Chocolate Chips Sea Salt

Beech-Nut Naturals Fruity Oat Bars

These bars are perfect for little hands, and can be found in most grocery stores in the baby food/snacks section. They are good for 12months+. They only have 5 ingredients and no added sugar! They are small bars which I find perfect because Hunter is known for starting a bar and then feeding it to the dog!

Ingredients: (Banana):

Whole Grain Oats Raisins Dried Banana Sunflower Oil Dates

Dino Bars

I heard about these bars on an episode

of the "Mom Brain" podcast. Like I said, I am always looking for nutritious snacks for Hunter so it peaked my interest. These also have something very unique about them - you can eat the paper wrapper! The paper prevents sticky fingers and crumbs. It is a little strange to get used to and Hunter makes me peel it off but older kids might think it's funny! Either way, the flavor of the bars is delicious!

Ingredients: (Blueberry) Organic Pear Juice Concentrate Organic Oats Organic Banana Flakes Organic Blueberry Juice Concentrate Organic Banana Powder, Organic Blueberry Powder, Organic Coconut Oil, Organic Hemp Hearts, Edible Paper (Potato Starch, Water, Olive Oil)

"That's it." Bars

I saw these in a health food store and was intrigued as soon as I saw the label! You can tell from the name that the ingredient list is going to be pretty basic (which is a good thing). Sure enough an apple banana bar is made from an apple and a banana...that's it! (Hence the name). I do want to say that these are high in sugar because fruit is high in sugar but there is no added sugar.

Ingredients: Apples Bananas

Hope your little one enjoys some of these delicious, healthy bars!
