Outdoor Adventures for You and Your Toddler

We love taking Hunter to new places. It really is amazing to get to experience the world through the eyes of a child. Luckily, he is pretty easy to impress, especially when there are animals or trucks involved! We have been pretty isolated over the past several months since the pandemic hit, so it has been very exciting to get to go on a few outdoor adventures. Check out some great places to take your toddler on Long Island!

*Check with your local library for free passes to museums! Every library is different but ours has passes to Old Bethpage Village Restoration as well as 16 other museums!*

We absolutely loved White Post Farms! This is my favorite place we have taken him so far. We took Hunter here recently at 21 months old. He loves animals so I knew this would be a home run. There are so many fun animals! To name a few, they have giraffes, zebras, camels, cows, goats and you can feed them all! They also have a bird room where you can buy bird seed sticks so they will come land right on your hand. They had play houses and pony rides! This trip is a must for anyone with a toddler!

We took Hunter here last weekend. Although my husband and I found the houses to be interesting, my almost 2 year old was not quite so interested in the history (obviously). We still went into a few of the houses with him but not all. They do have a small farm that he enjoyed. He is very interested in animals right now. On the way in, we had spotted some military tanks in a parking lot by the entrance. We drove back and it was the Museum of American Armor. Admission is free and if you have a kid that likes trucks, this is a great place to go. Hunter was fascinated! It didn't take much time but he seemed really interested in looking at all of the vehicles. They drive the tanks Labor Day weekend so I am hoping that they're allowed to do it this year because I know he would love that as well.

This place was so much fun and very inexpensive! For $10 they really had a lot to offer. We went during the Sunflower Festival in August so there were great photo ops! They have animals, tractor rides, mini golf, a jump pad and tractor pedal cars! This place is so cute. There are signs up about pumpkins so I'm sure it's great in the fall as well!
