Simple Sensory Bin with Stuff You Have at Home!

If you scroll through the internet, you will find some very elaborate and time consuming sensory bins. I have made some myself but you can also keep it really simple and your toddler will still have just as much fun! You probably already have the supplies in your house to make a great bin! Here are the basics:

Start with a filler:

These are some of our favorite fillers and they can all be found in your kitchen! Choose one or several and pour into a bin.

Next, add some "tools":

You will need some things for your toddler to scoop and pour with. Here are some ideas of things you probably have in the house. I like to add a bunch of different ones so Hunter can choose how he plays.

Lastly, toss in some added fun!

You can stop after step 2 or you can add a little extra fun with toys you have at home. These are some common toys you might have but you can throw in anything they like! Let them play on their own or use it as a lesson for colors, counting, animal sounds, letters, etc.

Just remember, you don't have to over think your sensory bin. Sometimes super simple is the best and as busy moms, we often need a quick set up activity!

**Tips on how to contain the mess indoors: I like to put a smaller bin filled with my sensory items in a bigger empty bin (like an under the bed bin). You can also put your child in a little blow up pool or put a plastic table cloth under them and the bin. These should help for a speedier clean up.

Hope your little one has a blast with these super simple sensory bin ideas!
